Merc Engineering offers a full range of Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) which enables us to reduce set-up and changeover times on difficult jobs.
Investments have been made in AG Charmilles and Astec EDM Machinery with Merc offering EDM Wire & Spark Erosion, but also EDM Fast-Hole Drilling. We also have the in-house ability to Wire Erode, Spark Erode and Fast Hole Drill. Merc manufacture miniature and micro-miniature components with tight tolerances of - +/- 0.0005mm.

Typical EDM products at Merc include Aerospace and missile component parts, defense industry precision mechanisms, Gas Turbine Fuel Swirlers, Formula 1 Chassis & Wheel Hub Components. Merc Engineering has adjusted its capacity to specialise in the manufacture of small to medium size precision machined components in the difficult-to-machine Aerospace and Subsea alloys, such as Inconel, Hastelloy, Titanium, Duplex Stainless Steel and Metal Matrix Composites.
