Welding from Merc Engineering

Merc Engineering operates a fully-coded welding unit accredited to BS EN 729-2 and DIN 6700-2. Utilising the latest in TIG and MIG welding technology, Merc offers welded fabrication in all manners of steels and weldable alloys. Primarily working for the European Railway Market, the components and sub-assemblies we produce are all safety-critical.

Since opening our TIG welding plant the core business has centred around Metro Train Emergency Doors, producing complete sub-assemblies utilised in larger composite assemblies. Our current aim is to expand on incoming contracts and diversify on the scope of work obtained. A number of our clients find that providing coded welding within a precision CNC engineering environment gives an initial unexpected bonus and instils additional confidence in the quality of the finished product.

This trust shown by our customers has given us the incentive to diversify the activity of our precision welding department into new areas such as Aerospace and Subsea.  Merc’s skilled welders also carry on some TIG Welding work on a regular basis for the repair of Motorsport exhausts.
