Reaching the landmark of being in business for 40 years, metrology company Blum NovoTest invited over 350 members of its global management team and key customers to a formal celebration held at its world headquarters in Ravensburg, Germany.  

The Friday night anniversary function was followed by a party for over 300 Blum Novotest employees and key system integrators on the Saturday evening to complete the weekends' festivities. The celebration came only two weeks after the company officially opened its second manufacturing plant in Ravensburg on 6th June.  

The banquets for visitors and employees from around the world concluded the weekend that also gave visitors the opportunity to tour the new 2,000sq/m manufacturing plant and receive presentations from company founder Guenther Blum and Chief Executive Alexander Blum.   

Guenther Blum delivered a presentation that discussed the humble beginnings of a family company that has grown through investment in people, skills, R&D and above all, a dedication to succeed. Alexander Blum addressed the audience with a review of the company’s recent history and an insight into the future development of Blum NovoTest.   

Discussing the growth of the company, Alex Blum commented: 'We now expect sales in 2008 to exceed the €32million (Euros). On top of this we are aiming to increase our workforce by 8% over the next 12 months. We have the capacity for this expansion with our new manufacturing facility that will accommodate the manufacture of all Blum products and give us increased potential for future development.  

'Our scope for future development has already been demonstrated by the introduction of 4 new systems in the last 12 months. The development of the Shark 360 measuring mechanism has enabled us to launch systems capable of measuring tolerances down to one tenth of a micrometer such as the LaserControl NT-H 3D and the TC53 and TC76 touch probes.  

'Our ability to identify the exact needs of a diverse market and deliver ground breaking technologies that enhance customers’ productivity, accuracies and quality of their work is our priority,' concluded Blum.
