International safety standard compliant rotating machinery guards released
The Falk Orange Peel rotating machinery guard from Rexnord is aimed to offer engineers a cost-effective solution for original and retrofit installations. The machinery guards are compliant with international safety standards and are designed for easy adaptation to individual applications.
The machinery guard, including the couplings and pumps, complies with OSHA, ASME and ANSI standards. It is available in a number of different design configurations, all of which can be tailored on-site to fit applications. The design options and adaptability of the guards aim to eliminate the problems associated with custom fabricated alternatives, such as preparing drawings, time delays and cost.
Manufactured in either polyethylene or aluminium, the guards can be easily trimmed to size following pre-formed cutting guides in the body and projecting shaft sleeves. This permits accurate adjustments to be made to both height and width. Further flexibility is provided by bolt-on pedestal risers that allow height to be increased.
In addition, the guard is designed to provide easy access for lubrication, inspection and maintenance, achieved simply by peeling away the panels that can be hinged either at the top or at the base of the assembly.
